The Dragonfly 28 is a versatile, foldable and trailable trimaran combining impressive sailing performance with comfortable cruising for family and friends. Designed for fast, stable and responsive sailing, it features Dragonfly’s renowned Swing Wing system, providing a generous 6.50 m beam when fully unfolded for an expansive and stable sailing platform, while folding down to just 2.54 m for marina berthing, road transport and storage. Available in Touring and Performance versions, the Dragonfly 28 combines easy handling, shallow-water capability and practical onboard accommodation, making it equally suited to weekend cruising and more performance-focused sailing.

Exterior

The Dragonfly 28 combines a spacious cockpit with two large trampolines, creating generous outdoor space while maintaining the stability and upright sailing characteristics of a trimaran. All essential lines are led back to the cockpit for simple and safe sail handling. Its folding design reduces the beam to 2.54 m for transport and berthing, while a shallow 0.40 m draft with the centreboard raised opens up access to shallow anchorages and coastal areas.

Interior

Below deck, the Dragonfly 28 offers a practical cruising interior with up to 1.82 m standing headroom in the main cabin. The dinette seats up to eight and converts into two full-size single berths, while the galley provides worktops and storage on both sides. A double V-berth is positioned forward, with another large double berth beneath the cockpit, complemented by a separate head with marine toilet, sink and storage.

Performance

Built for responsive yet manageable sailing, the Dragonfly 28 can reach speeds of 22+ knots while remaining stable and easy to helm. The Touring version features a 12.10 m mast section and 37 m² mainsail, while the Performance version steps up to a 13.60 m mast section, 43 m² mainsail and larger sail plan. The Performance version also features a carbon mast and high-volume wave-piercing floats for sailors looking for increased power and performance. Both versions use a 15 hp outboard engine and share the same lightweight 2,100 kg standard dry weight.
