The Dragonfly 36 is an award-winning performance cruising trimaran created for sailors who want speed, offshore capability and genuine onboard comfort. Named European Yacht of the Year 2026 in the Performance Cruiser Multihull category, it combines innovative wave-piercing hull design with a spacious dual-zone cockpit, twin helm stations and Dragonfly’s next-generation Swing Wing system. With an 8.12 m beam when fully unfolded, the Dragonfly 36 provides an expansive and stable sailing platform, while the floats can be folded in seconds to reduce the beam to just 3.70 m, making marina berthing considerably more practical. Designed for smooth, stable and efficient sailing, it brings together responsive performance, Scandinavian craftsmanship and comfortable cruising in a highly versatile package.

Exterior

The Dragonfly 36 features a spacious dual-zone cockpit that separates comfortable relaxation space from the sailing controls. Twin helm wheels are positioned alongside four electric winches, with the control lines led aft for efficient handling. Dragonfly’s advanced Swing Wing system reduces the beam from 8.12 m to 3.70 m in seconds without tools, while the open stern, large trampolines and shallow draft provide additional versatility when cruising, anchoring and enjoying time on the water.

Interior

Inside, the Dragonfly 36 combines Scandinavian craftsmanship with an unusually spacious layout for a performance trimaran. Panoramic windows and a flush-mounted skylight bring natural light into the saloon, which offers 1.99 m standing headroom and a large foldable dinette. Accommodation includes a forward V-berth cabin and a private double aft cabin, complemented by a separate head, optional shower and a fully equipped galley with a two-burner stove, oven and space for an 85-litre refrigerator. Light Ash wood is standard, with Elm available as an alternative.

Performance

Available in Touring and Performance versions, the Dragonfly 36 offers two sail configurations while retaining the same hull platform. Both feature carbon masts: the Touring version carries a 61 m² mainsail, while the Performance version increases this to 73 m², together with larger downwind sail options. The lightweight 4,500 kg construction, wave-piercing hull design and kick-up centreboard and rudder systems contribute to responsive handling and offshore performance, with Dragonfly quoting speeds of up to 23 knots.
